As one of the key pillars to a healthy lifestyle (alongside exercise and sleep) healthy eating is sometimes an area fo life that is neglected. It is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that healthy children who are engaged with lots of exercise can top up on plenty of toast. This webinar will dispel those myths and will set out the basis of balanced nutrition for young people in a boarding environment.
Training topics will include:
- The basis of healthy nutrition for young people.
- Educating young people about nutrition.
- How to balance independent choices with good decision making around nutrition.
- Provision of snacks and healthy choices.
- Supplements and suggested policies.
- How to gather, and act on, feedback.
Learning outcomes:
- An understanding of healthy nutrition at key stages of development
- How to support young people in making healthy decisions
