Modern challenges, including inactivity, inconsistent sleep schedules, artificial light exposure, and poor diets, disrupt our circadian rhythm, leading to poor sleep and increased disease risk. Only 25% of UK adults walk enough, and many overconsume caffeine and alcohol, contributing to a national average of just 6.1 hours of sleep per night. To improve sleep, key steps include maintaining regular sleep times, increasing physical activity, managing light exposure, reducing evening stress, and limiting caffeine and alcohol. Small adjustments can help reclaim sleep and protect long-term health.
