When running a business, caring for a child or family member or when we’re simply rushed off our feet, connection can be one of the first things to go.
But it’s important to prioritise it, as Steph says: ‘It can be quite lonely [running multiple businesses]. My main piece of advice would just be to lean on others.’
Laura echos this sentiment, explaining: ‘Find people who you feel safe with and spending time with them can help to protect your mental health.
‘When we are around people who feel safe to us, they help to co-regulate our nervous system, replenishing its stores and improving our health.
‘There’s a reason why loneliness is a silent killer. It’s not good for us to be on our own all the time as we are built to be sociable and around others.
‘So, find people (or even an animal!) who you feel at ease with and spend time with them to ease stress during busy periods.’
